Your use

Terms of Use

These terms explain the rules for using SubCaptions, generated captions, exports, subscriptions, and complimentary access.

Effective: July 27, 2026 Developer: Enes Sakut App: SubCaptions for iOS

1. Acceptance

By downloading, accessing, or using SubCaptions ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. The agreement is between you and Enes Sakut, not Apple.

2. What SubCaptions provides

SubCaptions lets you select videos, generate and translate captions, apply caption styles, edit text, export captioned videos, and download supported subtitle documents. Available features, formats, languages, and export qualities may vary by device, operating-system version, and subscription status.

3. License and ownership

Subject to these Terms and Apple's Usage Rules, you receive a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control. The App, its design, templates, software, and branding remain the property of the developer or applicable licensors.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of videos, audio, text, and other content you import or create. You grant the App only the device-level access needed to process that content at your direction.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights, permissions, and consents for all media you use or publish, including copyright, publicity, voice, and privacy rights.

5. Generated captions and translations

Automated transcription and translation can be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or affected by accents, background noise, recording quality, language support, and device performance. You must review captions before publishing or relying on them.

Do not rely on generated text for medical, legal, emergency, financial, accessibility-compliance, or other high-stakes decisions without qualified human review.

6. Complimentary access

The App may provide one complimentary Pro action. The credit is consumed after the first successful qualifying video export, SRT download, or TXT download. Once consumed, continued access to qualifying Pro actions requires an active subscription. Complimentary access is promotional, device-local, non-transferable, has no cash value, and may be changed or withdrawn before use.

7. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

  • Available plans, prices, billing periods, introductory offers, and trial eligibility are displayed in the App before purchase.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID through the App Store.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, subject to Apple's terms and the information shown on the purchase sheet.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Trial eligibility is determined by Apple. If a trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends.
  • Purchases and refund requests are processed by Apple under Apple's applicable policies.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use the App to:

  • Violate law or the rights of another person.
  • Create, distribute, or promote unlawful or abusive content.
  • Misrepresent another person's speech or identity in a harmful or deceptive way.
  • Attempt to bypass subscriptions, security controls, or technical restrictions.
  • Reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, or exploit the App except where applicable law expressly permits it.
  • Interfere with the App, the App Store, RevenueCat, or related services.

9. Availability and changes

We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue features. On-device models, language packs, exports, and Apple or third-party services may occasionally be unavailable. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or compatibility with every device, codec, media file, or future operating-system version. Analytics and crash-reporting services may also be used to measure reliability and diagnose technical failures as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of content, lost profits, or publication decisions resulting from use of generated captions or exports. Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.

12. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. Your right to use the App may end if you materially violate these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limitations, will survive.

13. Governing terms

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available in their country of residence. For App Store use, Apple's Standard EULA and applicable Apple Media Services terms also apply.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App or law. The effective date at the top identifies the latest version. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

15. Contact

For questions about these Terms, visit the SubCaptions contact page or email enes.sakut@icloud.com. Do not include videos, captions, payment details, or other sensitive information in your initial message.
